Good fiction does more than tell a story. It gives the gift of experience.

If literary fiction (story telling) is the way that human beings can understand and describe what history feels like, we believe it should be relevant to universal and historic human experience.  We believe also that literary fiction provides an opportunity to recognize, with significant impact, the problems of societies as well as individuals. At the Wessex Collective we are publishing books that demonstrate an empathy for human vulnerability and an understanding of how that is important to the larger society.
